Hey everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to announce community update. To make support and discussions around the projects easier to manage for both you and us, we're moving everything from GitHub and Discord to this website. It's been a challenge to keep up with requests, questions, and updates scattered across Spigot, BuiltByBit, GitHub, Discord, and even emails.
By bringing everything into one place, we can make sure support is easier to access, discussions are easier to follow, and no good idea or important issue gets lost.
This website will be the central hub for:
📢 Announcements & Changelogs
Official release announcements and changelogs will still appear first on SpigotMC and BuiltByBit. That doesn't change. Wha's new is that we now also post announcements here in two categories:
- Announcements has 3 subcategories:MetaSpigotMCBuiltByBit General news, new resources, shutdowns, and community updates.
- All release notes and updates for any resource -Changelogs
❗️ Website also will have a dedicated place forBeta/Pre-release builds, since GitHub doesn't treat them as "latest" and beta builds are not released on Spigot or BuiltByBit!
📰 Support Changes
From now on, this website will be the main place for support, issues, feature requests, and discussions. That means that GitHub discussions and general email support will be closed. Additionally, we have reorganized Discord server.
Every issue, discussion, feedback, etc becomes a topic that stays visible, easy to track, and organized with tags. Even if multiple people comment, it's still simple for us to follow up and for the community to see solutions or development.
💬 Discord Changes
Discord is still a great place for quick chats and casual conversations. However, it hasn't been a good long-term solution for support - messages were too easily drowned out, and longer threads were messy.
General chat areas remain open, but we have closed support channels and forums. Due to this website still being new and kind of a pilot project then Discord tickets will still be open for support.
And don't worry, website is integrated with Discord so you can easily login or see posts on Discord server as well!
🗄️ GitHub Changes
Previously, GitHub discussions were open for issue and suggestions discussions (plus other areas like extensions, development talks, etc). While GitHub works well for developers, it wasn't ideal for broader community - many users don't use GitHub actively, and discussions often went quiet or got lost.
We know that many of you like to extend our plugins or collaborate on new ideas. To make this easier and to replace the extensions that used to live on GitHub or wiki area - we have opened two new areas here:
- Dedicated space to share and publish extensions for any of the plugins:Extensions
- Place for development talks, collaboration and deeper technical discussions:Dev
And we are also bringing inLanguages area for you to share your translations to any of our resources.
🪪 Community Ranks
To recognize and thank community members who contribute, we're introducing forum community ranks:
- Verified - For users who have bought a premium resource. Also have access to Private Support forum.
- Contributor - For users who help fix issues or share their own extensions.
- Translator - For users who provide plugin translations.
🗒️ Final Notes
All of this is still a hobby - updates and fixes happen when I have the time. But this new structure makes sure issues, requests, and ideas don't get lost and that the community has a central place to grow.
